Bremen/Vienna, December 12, 2019. The aerospace group OHB has been awarded the Employer Branding Award 2019 in the Global Player category for its "Want to have been with us ..." campaign. Representatives of the company recently accepted the award in Vienna. The campaign’s slogan is completed by the words "when we saved the world through foresight". OHB is thus inviting potential applicants to become part of the asteroid mission Hera, for which OHB is the prime contractor. Another motif of the campaign features the question "Want to have been with us when other planets were explored from our base on the moon". This refers to the Lunar Gateway, a future space station which could serve as a waypoint en route to other planets. The Employer Branding Award is awarded annually by the Employer Brand Managers Club and the PR agency Symbiosis.
Jury: Highly innovative campaign
The initiators of the award say that the slogan of a campaign has rarely been so accurate and highly innovative. With a glimpse into the future, fictional stories are told that could become reality with the help of OHB technologies. "I am very proud of our interdisciplinary team, which jointly developed and implemented the employer branding campaign. The work was not only a lot of fun, but also had an impact, e.g. applicants refer to the campaign in their cover letter and interview. The number of applicants continues to increase. I am more than satisfied with the course the employer positioning has taken and would like to thank everyone for their contribution," says Ramona Stockinger, Head of HR Marketing at OHB.
The idea for the campaign was developed in cooperation with the Bremen-based brand agency moskito. The campaign was bilingual and was broadcast via several channels: the OHB career site and social media as well as posters at Bremen Airport, various job portals, print media and trade fairs. "As an employer, a company should showcase its mission and vision in order to underline its raison d'être. Employees want to understand the relevance of their work. We are very pleased that the campaign has moved so many people to want to be part of OHB. Apparently, many can imagine having been there," says Hendrik Loga, Managing Director of moskito.
