Robert Wethmar new Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Bremerhaven-based businessman Ingo Kramer to join OHB SE’s Supervisory Board

Bremen – Robert Wethmar, a member of the Supervisory Board since 2012, will be the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bremen-based space and technology group OHB SE from April 1, 2018. This is the unanimous resolution of the Supervisory Board passed today. Wethmar will be taking over from OHB founder Christa Fuchs, who will remain on the Supervisory Board as an ordinary member.

In addition, the Supervisory Board passed a unanimous resolution to nominate Bremen-based businessman and chairman of the Federal Association of German Employer Associations BDA, Ingo Kramer, as its fourth member. Kramer will be standing for election at the annual general meeting as an additional member of the Supervisory Board.

Born in 1953, Ingo Kramer has been BDA chairman since November 2013. He is well known and greatly admired in Bremen and the region thanks to the offices he has held as a long-standing chairman of the employer associations of the state of Bremen (2002-2016) and chairman of the employer association of the Northern metal industry (2007-2013). Now aged 65 years, he was managing director of the family-owned company J. Heinr. Kramer in Bremerhaven between 1982 and 2018 and remains active as a shareholder. With a degree in industrial engineering (Technical University of Karlsruhe), Kramer also has the necessary understanding of technical matters and technology. “I am very pleased about the nomination and the trust that the Fuchs family have in my skills,” says Kramer. “I greatly hope that with my decades of experience as a managing shareholder of a family-owned company, my regional roots, my technical background and my broad network from many years of working in associations I will be able to make a contribution to the OHB Group’s continued growth.”

Robert Wethmar, born in 1961, has been a member of OHB SE’s Supervisory Board since 2012. Aged 56, he is an attorney and has been a partner in the law firm Taylor Wessing in Hamburg since 1997. “I consider it to be a great honor to assume the position of Chairman of OHB SE’s Supervisory Board as the successor to the Company’s founder Christa Fuchs,” says Wethmar.
