OHB receives Top Employer 2020 award

Bremen/Oberpfaffenhofen, January 30, 2020. OHB System AG, a subsidiary of OHB SE, has been certified as a top employer for the year 2020. The award was officially presented yesterday at the DACH Certification Dinner at Rheinterasse Düsseldorf. Awarded annually by the Top Employers Institute, the certificate recognizes companies that place their employees in the focus of their business activities and offer them outstanding working conditions.

An independent institution, the Top Employers Institute was founded over 25 years ago in the Netherlands. It is the world’s leading authority on the certification of employee-friendly working conditions. For 2020, over 1,600 top employers in 119 countries and regions have been identified and recognized.

Working conditions under scrutiny

The certification process consists of several phases that must be completed in succession. It begins with the determination of the company’s general suitability for participation and culminates in certification as a top employer – provided that all the necessary requirements have been met. In between this are several evaluation and validation stages. One of these steps involves a questionnaire consisting of 100 questions, which examines 600 practices from ten areas of human resources management. These include, for example, strategies for attracting new talent and development opportunities within the company as well as the employee benefits offered and the corporate culture that has been established. Once the questionnaire has been submitted, it is evaluated and an external audit of the company’s processes, structures, systems and data is carried out.

OHB achieved the required standards in all areas and scored particularly well with its HR planning and talent acquisition processes. Compared with other companies, OHB is also well advanced in the use of digital technologies in the area of HR.

Focus on the right issues

Ramona Stockinger, Director HR People & Organization Development at OHB, is very satisfied with the outcome of the certification process: “Over the last few years, we have worked hard to create a professional and attractive working environment for our employees. We are particularly pleased to receive this award because it shows that we have been addressing the right issues and will continue to address them as we move forward.” Marion Scott, Director HR Operations, Policies & Controlling and responsible for recruiting at OHB, is equally pleased to receive the award: “We hope that the certification will make OHB as a family company even more attractive to skilled employees.”
