The space technology company OHB SE has been awarded the prize for German investment in Sweden. The award was presented during the 22nd Swedish Business Awards in Germany at a festive gala held at the cruise terminal of the Port of Kiel. Oliver Salisch, Chief Participation Officer of OHB SE, accepted the award and thanked the jury for the honor and for recognizing the achievements of the OHB teams in Sweden and Germany.
Since 2003, the Swedish Business Award has been presented jointly by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Business Sweden, and the Swedish Embassy. The award recognizes companies that, through their investments and partnerships, strengthen economic ties between Germany and Sweden in a sustainable manner. In addition to the three categories for Swedish companies operating in the German market, the award for German investments in Sweden is also traditionally presented.
From the jury’s statement: OHB is one of Europe’s leading space and technology companies and is synonymous with innovation, technical excellence, and reliability. Through its subsidiary OHB Sweden AB, the company has established itself as a key partner in the Swedish space sector. The successful development of OHB Sweden reflects the impressive growth of the Swedish space industry—from the innovative spirit in Kista to advanced satellite solutions used in international programs. Through targeted investments in research, development, and local expertise, OHB further strengthens this momentum, promotes technological competitiveness, and creates high-quality jobs in Sweden.
“We are delighted to receive this award, which recognizes our commitment to collaborating with Sweden. Through OHB Sweden, we are making an important contribution to European space exploration and, together, strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty. “Our recent investment in new cleanrooms and offices in Kista underscores the exceptionally positive development of our activities in Sweden. My thanks go to our employees in both countries, whose passion and expertise make this success story possible,” says Marco Fuchs, CEO of OHB SE.
