OHB SE Confirms Profitability Targets for Fiscal Year 2022 and Releases Growth Outlook Through Fiscal Year 2026
At its Capital Market Day 2023 today, the aerospace and technology group OHB SE (Prime Standard, ISIN DE0005936124) will discuss current market and corporate developments. The focus will be on the medium-term outlook, for which the company is updating its forecasts for total revenue, EBITDA, and EBIT:
| in millions of euros | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | 2026 |
| Total output | 950–1,000 | 1.176 | 1.328 | 1.573 | 1.608 |
| EBITDA | 97 | 109 | 126 | 147 | 170 |
| EBIT | 60 | 70 | 85 | 105 | 125 |
With the confirmation of profitability targets for the 2022 fiscal year, the implementation of the 2025 Group Strategy—established in the 2020 fiscal year—is beginning to have a positive impact on earnings. In line with the guidance issued in January 2022, the measures implemented are expected to result in a 28% year-over-year increase in EBIT for the 2022 fiscal year.
A number of significant opportunities for project acquisition will support the OHB Group’s future growth. The budgets approved during the ESA Ministerial Council meeting in November 2022, together with additional institutional budgets available for space activities at the European and national levels, form the basis for successful business development.
The medium-term outlook for the individual fiscal years through 2025, which was first published during last year’s Capital Market Day, has been extended through 2026. Due to project delays and late order intake, adjustments to the financial targets for the individual fiscal years are necessary. Despite the impact of various factors, the updated outlook is essentially confirmed.
During Capital Market Day, OHB SE’s purpose will be presented: “We use space to find answers to the complex questions of our time” reflects the motivation that drives the company and its 3,000 employees in their daily work. The use of space is the unifying factor across all business units and space-related disciplines, all of which are embodied in this overarching purpose.
The presentations at this year’s Capital Market Day are therefore all aligned with this purpose. The focus is, on the one hand, on sustainability—a topic that ranks very high on our clients’ agendas and is thus subject to political scrutiny, but which is also being established as a guiding principle within the OHB Group.
Articles in the DIGITAL section highlight the potential of space applications for other industries and present examples of downstream services. These help ensure that data generated by satellite systems can be used most effectively by end users.
The issue of Europe’s independent access to space—and the associated launch capabilities for European satellites—remains a hotly debated topic in the wake of Russia’s war in Ukraine. With the planned maiden launch of the newly developed RFA One rocket in 2023, the rocket sector in Europe will be diversified and competition in the launcher market will be stimulated. In addition to developing this rocket in-house, the Group is also involved in the European institutional rocket program Ariane, in which a subsidiary generates significant value as a long-standing partner. The Group’s status in this program and current export activities within the framework of major rocket programs are presented in detail, as are newly identified growth markets.
OHB SE’s audited 2022 consolidated financial statements will be discussed in detail at the financial results press conference scheduled for March 15, 2023, and at the analyst conference to follow on the same day, and will also be available for download on the OHB SE website.
