According to today’s press reports, the bid submitted by OHB System AG (a subsidiary of the Bremen-based space group OHB SE, Prime Standard; ISIN: DE0005936124) for the second-generation satellites in the Galileo program has not been selected by the relevant authorities (the European Space Agency, ESA, and the European Commission). OHB has not received a formal award decision; according to media reports, this decision will not be made until the end of January.
OHB System AG had contracts to build a total of 34 first-generation satellites for the Galileo program; 22 of these satellites are already part of the current constellation, while the remaining 12 are at various stages of production and testing. This contract is not affected by this.
