OHB awarded SAR-Lupe contract
2002 revenues and earnings plans confirmed
Bremen, December 18, 2001. The German Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement and OHB System AG, the affiliate of listed company OHB Teledata AG, on December 17. 2001 signed the contract concerning the SAR-Lupe satellite monitoring system. Worth roughly EUR 300 million, this large-scale project will allow both companies to budget revenues and earnings reliably. The entire system is to be completed by 2006. The volume attributable to OHB Teledata AG is worth roughly EUR 13.4 million, of which approx. EUR 2.5 million will show up in the Company’s 2002 revenues. Alongside the recent telematics orders received from major customers for 2002, this confirms OHB Teledata AG’s original revenue and earnings forecast for 2002. The SAR-Lupe satellite reconnaissance system will be used by the German armed forces in crisis regions. OHB Teledata will be handling the data transmission/telemetrie component of the overall project. The experience gained from the SAR-Lupe project will be plowed back into new products aimed at enhancing security and monitoring functions.
